Valentine's Day Gifts for Kids

Have your kids asked you yet what you are doing for the Valentine's Day party? I have been lucky enough to avoid that aisle so far this year, but we still have almost a month left. Here is what I came up with. Isn't it cute?

The base is Riding Hood Red c/s cut to 4 1/2" x 7". Score at 1/2" along the 4 1/2" side. Score at 1/2", 3" 3 3/4" and 6 1/4" along the 7" side. Score all the lines. Ok, now this part will be hard to describe so bear with me... Cut up to the 1/2" scored line at all points. Before you assemble the box, punch a hole at the top with your Crop-a-dile. I used the 3/16" side and punch in 3/8" (use your cool settings). I folded the paper so that I punched through both sides at once.

I used 21 1/2" of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon. I don't know if you really need that much but I'm trying to make it easier to tie bows.

Here is a picture open. It is a lot easier to thread the ribbon under the box than it looks. Thread the ribbon through both holes across the top of the box, centering it. Now you can push the ribbon down with the box and tie a ribbon on the top. I decorated the front with Candy Lane DSP. I stamped the hearts with the "Love You Much" stamp set in Riding Hood Red ink on Pink Pirouette c/s. It was so easy to punch them out with the "Heart to Heart"punch. I used a dimensional on the medium sized heart to raise it up a little bit. Finally I stamped friend to friend with Black Staz On ink in the lower right hand corner. I would suggest decorating the top piece before adhering it to the box. This will make stamping on the paper much easier. Clear as mud? Have fun.

I need your help...

As you can probably see, I'm not very good at all this computer stuff. I need someone to help me organize my blog. If you can help me, I'll pay you in stamping stuff. PLEASE!!

Stamp Club

Is your wish list longer than your budget? Do you want to attend a free class every month? If so, you want to join a Stamp Club!!!

How do they work?
Commit to purchasing $25 per month (before shipping/handling and tax) for 6 months. Each month, you are invited to a free class where we will do 2-3 projects. 2 of the projects will be cards. These will be something more than I can do in a workshop either due to time, technique or cost.

What do I get for my commitment?
-Free class once a month (1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm or a make-up Wednesday at 9am)
-New catalogs (Spring-Summer 2009 AND Fall-Winter 2009)
-Hostess benefits one month during the club
-at least $15 in merchandise
-at least a Level 1 Hostess set
-New ideas and inspiration
-A chance to build upon your skills and increase your supplies slowly over time

Do I have to be local?
No. All I need is a credit or debit card on file to pay for your purchases. You will need to email me your order by the club meeting. I will mail your the completed club projects with your order. You will need to add $5 to your club order each month to help defer shipping costs.

How do I sign up?
Call or email me. Sign up at the open house on January 19th and get extra door prize tickets!!

Can I still come and play if I can't commit every month?
Of course. You will need to submit the same minimum order as everyone else. Just be sure to RSVP so I have enough supplies to include you.

I look forward to playing with all my old and new club gals. I have had fun these last 6 months and look forward to learning more from you.

Hi everyone. I haven't completely forgot I had a blog, but mostly. I want to continue to post. Let's see if a new year will improve things. Here is a card that I did today. On one of the demonstrator yahoo groups, they have a Chat & Challenge. The moderator posts a template and we go from there. We can use any stamp set or colors. Here is what I did using the set "Game Night" which will be available come January 19th.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Game Night
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Jackpot DSP
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: 3/4" square punch, 1/2" circle punch, Red Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals

Happy Stamping...

Karen :)
